How to pair a Bluetooth Ring scanner to 70E Black WEH non-wearable?
By default, the BTRS is configured to work in slave mode. To make sure that the BTRS is working in this mode, scan the bar code "Enable Slave Mode" which can be found in the Bluetooth Ring Scanner Guide. This guide can be downloaded clicking here.
Go to 'Start' > 'Settings' > 'Bluetooth'.
Tap on the "Add" button. This will start the search of new Bluetooth devices.
Select from the discovered devices list, the one with the following description:"LXE - Scanner - xxxxxxxxxxxx". (where the "x" characters represent the BTRS Bluetooth MAC Address). Once selected, tap on the "Next" button.
When asking for a "Passcode", tap on "Next". Then the device will ask to add the BTRS to the device list. Tap on "Yes" to confirm.
The Dolphin device will ask again for a Passcode. Leave it blank and tap on the "Cancel" button. Now the device is added to the Bluetooth device list of the Dolphin.
Click on the “advance” tab. Tap the serial port to add a “X” in the box and click save. Note: The BTRS appears as "Disconnected". Ignore this.
Tap on the "COM Ports" upper tab.
Tap on the "New Outgoing Port" element of the list.
The BTRS should be listed in the "Add a Device" list. Tap on the "Next" button.
In the Port "drop-down" list, select the "COM4" and deselect the "Secure Connection" check box. Tap on the “Finish” to exit.
Tap on the "Ok" button to close the Bluetooth
Go to the Power tools folder and click on “EZConfig Utilities”
Tap the “Scanwedge” icon to bring up Scanwedge.exm.
Click on the “Comm” to bring the comm port settings.
Click on “Enable” and change to “yes”. Click “ok” to save.
Click on “AutoConnect” and change to “Enabled”. Click “ok” to save.
Click on “Port” and change to “4”. Click “ok” to save.
Click on “RetryOnDisconnect” and change to “Enabled”. Click “ok” to save.
Click on “File” and “Save”.
Click on “File” and “Exit”
Go to 'Start' > 'Power Tools' > and click on “Scanwedge” to initialize
Turn the terminal off and back on. The scanner will make a pairing click.
