For the RP printers to be successfully loaded and configure the printer USB mode must be in the 'Composite Mode' and utilizing the most current version of NETira CT, windows printer drivers and firmware.
Process for updating the printer:
Connect the printer to your host PC via USB cable.
Open NETira (must be version 220.127.116.11 or above) establish the connection.
Once it is completed click on the drop-down arrow and select the applicable ‘USB_Virtual_COM-->COMXX’ port.
Query the printer.
Update the AVAR file.
Click on the ‘Printer File Explorer’ icon
Click ‘Copy Files...’
‘Select the applicable AVR file and ‘Select a File Type’, ‘DOXAVRFILE’ then click ‘Copy File’, when completed click ‘Done’.
Note: The AVR file update is necessary during the development stages but, will not be a part of the normal firmware update process once we get into production printers.
6. Update ‘MBoot’ and ‘Firmware’
‘Tools’>’Update Printer via File Streaming Method’>’OK’>’Yes’
Perform updating while printer is running in 'Application Mode'.
Check ‘Boot M:’ box and locate the applicable 'MBoot' file.
Check the ‘Firmware:’ box and locate the applicable firmware file.
The Bluetooth, Radio and Media Feed icons will simultaneously flash slowly (loading firmware) followed by the same icons flashing quickly (printer reset). Once the icons stop flashing the printer will be at a 'Ready' state.
Note: The order of downloading file to the printer is ‘Boot M’ and then ‘Firmware’. Using NETira 18.104.22.168 and above you can check both boxes and the updates will run in the correct order.
